A pre-save step lets fans connect their DSP account once so future releases drop into their library automatically. Openstage supports forever pre-saves for Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. Artists do not need releases in the Music Catalog to collect pre-saves - the Music Catalog is only required when sending pre-save broadcasts.
🟢 Top tip: Forever pre-saves work best when fans get something immediately in return. Early audio, exclusive content, or automated music delivery increases conversion.
Before you start
Add your DSP profile links before collecting pre-saves.
Navigate to Artist Settings.
Add your Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer profile links.
Save your changes.
Add a Connect DSP step
Open your Landing Page and click the + icon between journey steps.
Select Connect DSP.
Toggle Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer on or off.
Save the Landing Page.
⚪ Note: Analyze DSP connections per platform via your Connect DSP step from the Engagement tab of your Landing Page.
Reward fans for pre-saving
Pre-save campaigns perform better when fans receive something immediately after connecting their DSP. Add a video or audio to the ‘thank you’ step to offer fans a first listen of unreleased music.
A common fan journey:
Join step - Connect DSP step - then Add a Video or Audio block to your Thank you step
Make the pre-save step mandatory if you want fans to connect before accessing the video.
Trigger automated music delivery
Fans who complete a pre-save step receive the presave-welcome tag automatically. Use this tag to trigger automated broadcasts that deliver music directly into fan libraries. This workflow is commonly used for release campaigns, fan club drops, exclusive track delivery, and catalog reactivation campaigns.
🟡 Please note: Openstage only delivers pre-save broadcasts to fans connected through Spotify, Apple Music, or Deezer. Additional DSP links work as standard outbound links and do not support automated library delivery.
Add additional DSP links
For DSPs beyond Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer, add links manually by using a links block on your ‘thank you’ step.
