Every fan who joins your world is a member. A Fan Pass is digital recognition of that membership in their phone’s wallet - personalized, and a direct channel to reach fans on their home screen via push notifications.
What a Fan Pass does
Sits in your fan’s Apple or Google Wallet, showing who they are to you and the tier they are on.
Updates automatically - edit the design any time and every downloaded pass updates on its own.
Acts as a communication channel - send push notifications through it and they land directly on your fan’s phone, looping them back into your world.
⚪ Note: Every fan joins your world as a default free member. Membership tiers only show on a Fan Pass if you have more than one tier.
See here for more information on Memberships.
Design your Fan Pass
Navigate to Engage > Fan Pass and click Set up.
The preview panel on the right updates in real time so you can see how the pass appears on web, Apple Wallet, and Google Wallet. Use the preview to view the pass as fans on different membership tiers, and download an example to your phone for testing.
🟡 Please note: The example Fan Pass downloaded from the preview is for visual reference only. To fully test a Fan Pass and receive push notifications, send yourself a test email from a Post containing a Fan Pass block, install the pass on your phone, then create a push notification and filter the audience to your own email address or a test audience.
Colors
Choose an existing Brand Kit to pull colors from, or set your foreground and background colors directly.
🟡 Please note: Foreground color is not supported on Google Wallet - Google automatically selects white or black text based on your background color for contrast.
Pass header
Logo - use the circular profile image from artist settings, or upload a new image.
Pass title - your artist name, fan club name, or community name.
Hero image (optional) - choose from your asset library or upload. Recommended size is 1125 x 375px (3:1) or larger. Keep important content centered as edges may crop differently across wallets. Hero images appear under the header in Apple Wallet and at the bottom in Google Wallet.
Pass content
Left field - defaults to joined date. Click the Edit label to change - for example, “Member since.”
Right field - set to none or add custom text and a value.
Pass details
Fans can view this information when they open the pass details from their wallet.
Add a description - for example, “This pass reflects your membership of the [Artist Name] Fan Club.”
Configure up to 10 custom links. By default, a fan’s profile link and your Fan HQ (if published) are included. You can add up to 10 more.
Share your Fan Pass
Once your Fan Pass is designed and configured, click Publish. From the Fan Pass dashboard, choose one or more share options - these can be changed at any time.
🟡 Please note: Fan HQ must be published before you can publish your Fan Pass.
Show on fan profiles
Fans see their pass on their profile page at artistname.hq.fan/account or artistname.hq.fan/me and can add it to their wallet from there.
🟢 Top tip: While testing Fan Pass, leave Show on fan profiles OFF until you are ready to make it available to fans.
Send it in a Post
Add a Fan Pass block to a Post and send it to all fans or a specific audience. Clicking this option opens a draft Post with a Fan Pass block ready to configure. See Create and Publish Posts for more detail.
Add it to your Fan HQ homepage
Add a Fan Pass block to your Fan HQ so fans can download their pass whenever they visit. Clicking this option takes you to your Fan HQ with a draft Fan Pass block added, ready to publish.
Add it to your Welcome email
